Mark Berg is an Emmy award winning, highly experienced Director of Photography and camera operator who began his career 26 years ago as a news photographer for the CBS affiliate in Duluth, MN. Berg has worked on staff at three additional television news stations where his photography earned top honors from the Michigan and Ohio Association of Broadcasters.
In 1991, he founded Great Lakes Teleproductions, Inc. (GLTI), a full service production company, based in Wixom, Michigan. Mark's work spans all genres of television including news, sports, documentaries, and commercials. Some of his clients include: ABC News, NBC News, Jigsaw Productions, Harpo Productions, HBO, CNN, A&E, MLB Network and others.
As the 2nd Unit Director of Photography on 'Fordson' Mark was instrumental in establishing the look and feel of the film. In collaboration with DP Mike Shamus the two were responsible for the cinematography and richness of imagery seen throughout the film.
Recently Berg has worked on "The Last Gladiators" with Jigsaw Productions and is currently in production on "Detroit: City of Heartbreak and Hope" for Dateline NBC. For the last twelve years he has shot for the "Stanley Cup Champions" DVD for the National Hockey League Studios. In 2009 he shot the "Interview w/Ernie Harwell" for MLB Network/ESPN/Bob Costas. That same year he worked on "Young Nuns/Ann Arbor" for Harpo Productions with Lisa Ling. Additionally he worked on "Montreal Canadiens-100 years"; Montreal Canadiens/NHL Studios; "Climbing Mt. Kilimanjarou/Zdeno Chara"; NHL Productions; "Branch Rickey-A Matter of Fairness"; Metrocom/Big Ten Television; "The Last Mile-Polio, Salk"; Metrocom/PBS.
